John Zola is a (now retired) high school social studies teacher, who last taught at New Vista High School, a “break the mold” public high school in Boulder, Colorado. He was also the Director of School and University Partnerships at the University of Colorado. He has been in the classroom for 30 years and has taught both pre- and in-service workshops on a wide variety of topics for nearly 25 years. In addition to his work in the classroom, John teaches Social Studies methods courses for the University of Colorado. He is an expert on using the Socratic method for teaching and has been conducting seminars on the subject around the country and the world.
