Announcements of Upcoming Workshops
2017 Summer Institute is full. Please contact us at SGDHelp@colorado.edu for information on next year's Institute.
Applications are now closed for the Scalable Game Design Summer Institute occurring June 6 to June 10 at the University of Colorado Boulder. In addition to the Beginner 3D Game Design workshop, Intermediate and Advanced returning Scholars will learn exciting new content such as advanced game design, simulation design, best-practices in classroom management, computational thinking applied to programming and beyond, math simulation building, arts-based game design, and other topics using the AgentCubes Online 3D computational thinking tool. Research participants apply now, and non-research participants can apply in April as paid attendees.
You are asked to read through quite a bit of material before completing the application form. We are using an Early Access software tool that requires hardware that can run it, and teachers who can manage it.

Scalable Game Design Wyoming/Google CS4HS Professional Development
August 12 - 15, 2015
Western Wyoming Community College
Thanks to support from Google's CS4HS initiative, 15 Wyoming middle school and high school teachers will begin building a community of student learners to move toward taking and completing the new Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles course. Teachers will learn how to engage and motivate students through Scalable Game Design activities, and going beyond coding into computational thinking. Middle school teachers will work with their feeder high school teachers to nurture and encourage students to stay involved with computer science and programming, and support students to succeed when the AP CSP course is made available. The Wyoming teachers will part of a Scalable Game Design CS4HS professional Community of Practice that extends into Colorado and New Mexico.
